Welcome back to MAFIA II! In part three, we analyze our third gameplay video where Vito is released from prison, Joe and Vito join up with Falcone, and a rescue mission brings an underground war between Falcone and Clemente into the light.
In this episode, we wonder WHAT is wrong with that lady, we rejoice when Vito finally gets irritated at Joe, and we pound the Advil after listening to Marty talk 😐 More seriously, we talk about how everyone seems to be playing both sides (and why?), is Vito and Joe's friendship still air-tight, and what really led to Vito's intense interest in joining the Mafia? Don't forget to watch or play along - gameplay is posted weekly on our YouTube channel! We'll continue to play MAFIA II and analyze it in our podcast - join us in the coming weeks as we follow Vito's path through the Mafia.

00:00:00 --> 00:00:04 Back with another morning recording. It's 1220.
00:00:07 --> 00:00:13 On a Sunday, so that's early. I am drinking coffee
00:00:13 --> 00:00:18 right now, to be fair. Thank you for coming back
00:00:18 --> 00:00:20 from our replay reviews. My name is Leah. And
00:00:20 --> 00:00:22 my name is Kathy. We are two friends who are
00:00:22 --> 00:00:25 here to replay, review, and analyze your favorite
00:00:25 --> 00:00:27 video games. And since Kathy has never seen the
00:00:27 --> 00:00:29 games before, it helps me view them through her
00:00:29 --> 00:00:31 fresh eyes, almost like I'm discovering them
00:00:31 --> 00:00:33 again for the first time. We hope it will be
00:00:33 --> 00:00:42 a similar experience for you. In this episode,
00:00:42 --> 00:00:46 somehow we're in a sewer again, but this time
00:00:46 --> 00:00:50 it's for the plot. Is she a robot? And Playboy
00:00:50 --> 00:00:53 Steve really needs to keep some things to himself.
00:00:54 --> 00:00:56 Vito is released from prison early and picks
00:00:56 --> 00:00:59 up right where he left off. Though his first
00:00:59 --> 00:01:02 day of freedom does not go as planned. So chapter
00:01:02 --> 00:01:07 7. In loving memory of Francesco Potenza. Do
00:01:07 --> 00:01:09 we even meet that person? I don't know if we
00:01:09 --> 00:01:14 do. Is that the dead body? Maybe. Frankie, I
00:01:14 --> 00:01:18 guess? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, I think so. Anyway,
00:01:18 --> 00:01:22 Empire Bay, April 10th, 1951. Galante did manage
00:01:22 --> 00:01:26 to reduce Vito's sentence by four years. As he's
00:01:26 --> 00:01:29 released, he says, it's a whole new world. No,
00:01:29 --> 00:01:33 it's just not winter anymore, Vito. It's that,
00:01:33 --> 00:01:37 but it's females dress less conservative. Because
00:01:37 --> 00:01:40 that camera immediately pans over to them. You
00:01:40 --> 00:01:44 were like, is she naked? The color was off. She
00:01:44 --> 00:01:48 was not, in fact, naked. Backless dress, people.
00:01:50 --> 00:01:54 Unsurprisingly. Vito heads to Joe's and he has
00:01:54 --> 00:01:56 an apartment secured for him and also gives him
00:01:56 --> 00:01:59 some money and a gun and says that he needs to
00:01:59 --> 00:02:02 introduce Vito to someone. We both reacted to
00:02:02 --> 00:02:05 the gun placement. And she's on the couch. Why
00:02:05 --> 00:02:08 is it so casually placed there? Tossed it on
00:02:08 --> 00:02:12 the couch when he came home last night. God forbid
00:02:12 --> 00:02:16 someone sit on it. I don't understand why the
00:02:16 --> 00:02:19 first thing he does coming out of jail is to
00:02:19 --> 00:02:23 see Joe. and not maybe his sister or pay his
00:02:23 --> 00:02:26 respects to his mom's grave. Like, he completely
00:02:26 --> 00:02:29 forgets about his sister and his mom at this
00:02:29 --> 00:02:31 point. And I'm done with him. I don't know if
00:02:31 --> 00:02:34 we ever get mention of his mother again, if I'm
00:02:34 --> 00:02:38 being honest. I don't recall. But I agree with
00:02:38 --> 00:02:41 you. They drive off to Vita's apartment, and
00:02:41 --> 00:02:44 we learn that Joe hasn't seen Henry in a few
00:02:44 --> 00:02:47 years, and that he is now working for the Falcone
00:02:47 --> 00:02:50 family. this is gonna get them killed by changing
00:02:50 --> 00:02:53 families i don't know what the loyalty stuff
00:02:53 --> 00:02:59 is gonna be like but i think this is gonna backfire
00:02:59 --> 00:03:02 yeah i mean i guess they were being lied to and
00:03:02 --> 00:03:08 extorted for the five grand but still risky all
00:03:08 --> 00:03:11 dressed up at joe's we meet eddie scarpa and
00:03:11 --> 00:03:14 they head out for a drink scarpa says don't let
00:03:14 --> 00:03:16 me drink too much i gotta take care of something
00:03:16 --> 00:03:18 later I hate that. If you don't want to drink
00:03:18 --> 00:03:22 too much, that's on you. Yeah. Stop making it
00:03:22 --> 00:03:25 other people's problem that you can't get your
00:03:25 --> 00:03:28 own things done in all your decks in a row. I
00:03:28 --> 00:03:31 don't know if you want to do your notes. My next
00:03:31 --> 00:03:33 one is just why the is he doing this during a
00:03:33 --> 00:03:38 conversation? That's my note. So the next part,
00:03:38 --> 00:03:42 we're in the club. We see a lot of stuff. And
00:03:42 --> 00:03:46 then we also see Eddie having a conversation.
00:03:47 --> 00:03:49 While multitasking. I don't know. He's being
00:03:49 --> 00:03:54 attended to. Yeah. By someone's mouth. And so...
00:03:54 --> 00:03:58 It's unnecessary. It kind of reminds me of Nishitani.
00:03:59 --> 00:04:01 It's way worse. But it makes that scene a little
00:04:01 --> 00:04:04 bit better. A lot better. Also, why does this
00:04:04 --> 00:04:09 lady look like a robot? Like, she looks not okay.
00:04:10 --> 00:04:13 And her neck is outstretched long like a turtle.
00:04:14 --> 00:04:19 And the face she's making is like... freaking
00:04:19 --> 00:04:24 drunk eddie is pretty much throwing really mean
00:04:24 --> 00:04:27 they're not slurs but i mean just really not
00:04:27 --> 00:04:31 nice words they should be naming them yeah i'll
00:04:31 --> 00:04:37 say it come dumpster and this entire scene made
00:04:37 --> 00:04:41 me so uncomfortable like why i don't know if
00:04:41 --> 00:04:43 it made it better or worse that the animation
00:04:43 --> 00:04:50 is so Eddie offers to let Vito in on the work
00:04:50 --> 00:04:53 for Falcone. He accepts. He's way too excited
00:04:53 --> 00:04:56 about it. And then as the night goes on, Joe
00:04:56 --> 00:05:00 and Eddie are just absolutely drunk. Poor Vito.
00:05:00 --> 00:05:03 I think this is maybe the only time that we can
00:05:03 --> 00:05:05 say poor Vito and actually mean it. Yeah, that
00:05:05 --> 00:05:10 is true. So they're leaving. Vito has to drive
00:05:10 --> 00:05:14 because he's the least drunk. And it takes the
00:05:14 --> 00:05:17 two of them forever to get into the car. And
00:05:17 --> 00:05:21 it irritates me so much. You're done with it.
00:05:21 --> 00:05:23 And then what's going to be even more irritating
00:05:23 --> 00:05:28 is that we learn the reason why Eddie said don't
00:05:28 --> 00:05:30 let me get too drunk is because there's a freaking
00:05:30 --> 00:05:33 dead body in the trunk. And I'm not saying that
00:05:33 --> 00:05:36 it's like a recent dead body. This is like there's
00:05:36 --> 00:05:41 flies around this body that's white. Blood has
00:05:41 --> 00:05:46 been drained from it. Yeah. You wonder what would
00:05:46 --> 00:05:48 have happened if they didn't smell the smell.
00:05:49 --> 00:05:52 Eddie just going, must be Frankie Potts. Why
00:05:52 --> 00:05:55 isn't he prioritizing taking care of the dead
00:05:55 --> 00:06:00 body before going to the club? He has a problem.
00:06:00 --> 00:06:04 Maybe two. Maybe two addictions at play here.
00:06:04 --> 00:06:09 So poor Vito has to drive to the grave that has
00:06:09 --> 00:06:12 already been dug and... Bury Frankie Potts in
00:06:12 --> 00:06:14 it. And then drive them home while they're singing
00:06:14 --> 00:06:19 to the radio. I will say it is nice to see Vito
00:06:19 --> 00:06:22 get irritated. Like he doesn't like the situation.
00:06:22 --> 00:06:25 Kind of like how in a previous game in Red Dead
00:06:25 --> 00:06:28 Redemption, I wanted John to be irritated. It's
00:06:28 --> 00:06:32 nice to see Vito be irritated. I agree. And the
00:06:32 --> 00:06:35 next day he's still irritated. So should we move
00:06:35 --> 00:06:38 on to... I don't know if it's the next day. Hold
00:06:38 --> 00:06:41 on. It is the next day. Okay. So let's move on
00:06:41 --> 00:06:43 to scene two then, which is chapter eight, The
00:06:43 --> 00:06:49 Wild Ones, Uptown, April 11th, 1951. Some guy
00:06:49 --> 00:06:52 who we'll learn is named Marty is tossing rocks
00:06:52 --> 00:06:54 at Vito's window, and he and Joe call him down
00:06:54 --> 00:06:58 once he's awake. Joe asks Vito to drive the truck
00:06:58 --> 00:07:01 in his possession to Riverside because it's going
00:07:01 --> 00:07:04 to make them some cash. Marty's gone, but we
00:07:04 --> 00:07:06 learn that he was a kid that lived down the street
00:07:06 --> 00:07:09 from Joe years ago. So it turns out the truck
00:07:09 --> 00:07:11 is full of cigarettes and they're selling them.
00:07:12 --> 00:07:14 And in the truck on the drive, we learn that
00:07:14 --> 00:07:16 Marty doesn't work for Eddie. He's not even 18.
00:07:17 --> 00:07:21 But he runs errands, etc. for Joe. Vito gives
00:07:21 --> 00:07:23 him a little bit of gruff about this, which I
00:07:23 --> 00:07:26 kind of appreciate that he's... I feel like he
00:07:26 --> 00:07:28 could... This could be a redeeming quality for
00:07:28 --> 00:07:30 Vito that he maybe kind of sees Marty as himself
00:07:30 --> 00:07:34 a little bit. Sort of being led into this too
00:07:34 --> 00:07:37 young. I didn't really think much about that.
00:07:37 --> 00:07:40 I just... Remember thinking how much you really
00:07:40 --> 00:07:45 were annoyed by Marty's voice? I can't even do
00:07:45 --> 00:07:55 it. Well, insert it. They park and you get these
00:07:55 --> 00:08:00 greasy looking men come out and they're like,
00:08:00 --> 00:08:03 ho, ho, ho, I'm the bigger macho dude right here.
00:08:04 --> 00:08:07 After a bit of escalation, it really escalates
00:08:07 --> 00:08:12 because Joe just shoots him. I mean, they did
00:08:12 --> 00:08:17 throw a Molotov cocktail or whatever that thing
00:08:17 --> 00:08:20 is. So yeah, they kind of did start it. But for
00:08:20 --> 00:08:24 Joe to go straight into murder? Point blank,
00:08:24 --> 00:08:27 pretty much. Right in the face, chest, I'm not
00:08:27 --> 00:08:32 sure. He did not like being called Porky. And
00:08:32 --> 00:08:34 why are they just like... Circling around in
00:08:34 --> 00:08:37 those cars looking stupid. Yeah. Looking out
00:08:37 --> 00:08:41 the window. They chase after them, but lose them.
00:08:42 --> 00:08:45 I lose them. And so then they call Eddie, who's
00:08:45 --> 00:08:48 pissed. He paid $2 for the truck and wants
00:08:48 --> 00:08:51 his money back. However, he also happens to be
00:08:51 --> 00:08:54 meeting Steve, or meeting with Steve, the guy
00:08:54 --> 00:08:57 from the dock, about how to handle the same gang.
00:08:57 --> 00:08:59 And they say they're going to attack them, but
00:08:59 --> 00:09:05 no shooting. Too late for that. And then Joe
00:09:05 --> 00:09:07 says, what's Steve doing working for Eddie? He
00:09:07 --> 00:09:09 works for Derek, and Derek's with Vinci's crew.
00:09:09 --> 00:09:12 Vito responds, how the hell should I know? Which,
00:09:12 --> 00:09:15 fair enough, but Joe's asking a valid question
00:09:15 --> 00:09:17 here. It seems like there's a lot of cross -pollination
00:09:17 --> 00:09:20 going on. Well, the fact that Joe's smart enough
00:09:20 --> 00:09:22 to ask a question is a bit surprising for me,
00:09:22 --> 00:09:28 but it's kind of a hypocrite because Joe was
00:09:28 --> 00:09:32 one to switch loyalties, so okay. Steve wants
00:09:32 --> 00:09:34 to switch, but this is also, like, foreshadowing
00:09:34 --> 00:09:36 probably an all -out war between all the families.
00:09:36 --> 00:09:39 I guess Joe fully flipped. You know, it seems
00:09:39 --> 00:09:44 like Steve's maybe just involved with both. But
00:09:44 --> 00:09:46 I don't know. Is that allowed? I don't know.
00:09:48 --> 00:09:50 At the meetup, Joe is surprised to see that Marty
00:09:50 --> 00:09:53 will be participating. They shoot up the gang's
00:09:53 --> 00:09:56 bar, even though Eddie said no guns, so immediately
00:09:56 --> 00:10:00 we break that rule. Next, they go to the foundry
00:10:00 --> 00:10:03 to confront the gang, who have guns, so they
00:10:03 --> 00:10:05 have to shoot back. I don't think anyone's disappointed
00:10:05 --> 00:10:08 about the shootout, though. They kill pretty
00:10:08 --> 00:10:10 much all of them. Vito is worried about how Eddie
00:10:10 --> 00:10:13 will react, but Steve isn't. Vito and Joe steal
00:10:13 --> 00:10:15 some cars from the gang to earn the two grand
00:10:15 --> 00:10:19 that Eddie is owed. And of course, Joe is the
00:10:19 --> 00:10:23 one taking the lead, taking the cash. How is
00:10:23 --> 00:10:26 Vito okay with this? I get that Joe hasn't betrayed
00:10:26 --> 00:10:30 him quite yet. But seeing small instances of
00:10:30 --> 00:10:33 this, why is Joe the one taking the cash? I don't
00:10:33 --> 00:10:35 know. Because for a while now, it's been the
00:10:35 --> 00:10:37 two of them, so it's not like he's... I mean,
00:10:37 --> 00:10:39 he's fresh out of jail, but he's not new. You
00:10:39 --> 00:10:43 know. After paying him, though, Joe asks if he
00:10:43 --> 00:10:46 needs anything else from them. As he says he's
00:10:46 --> 00:10:50 got something he's gotta take care of. Uh, what
00:10:50 --> 00:10:54 might that be? Suspicious? I just feel like Joe
00:10:54 --> 00:10:58 is going to betray Vito. There's no way that
00:10:58 --> 00:11:01 that's not happening. Anything else on scene
00:11:01 --> 00:11:03 two or should we move on to chapter nine? Let's
00:11:03 --> 00:11:07 go to chapter nine. All right. Balls and Beans
00:11:07 --> 00:11:11 is the name of the chapter. Uptown May 6, 1951.
00:11:11 --> 00:11:13 Also, they really one -upped my out -of -context
00:11:13 --> 00:11:16 summary with this chapter title. Sofito is woken
00:11:16 --> 00:11:18 up by a phone call from Joe, who says they have
00:11:18 --> 00:11:20 a situation and to meet him at the bar with a
00:11:20 --> 00:11:24 gun and a decent car. So at the bar... Eddie
00:11:24 --> 00:11:28 introduces Vito to Carlo Falcone, who asks Vito
00:11:28 --> 00:11:31 how he feels about Clemente and Guarino. Obviously,
00:11:31 --> 00:11:33 he's not a fan after they tried to swindle him
00:11:33 --> 00:11:35 for the five grand, and Falcone says that they're
00:11:35 --> 00:11:38 planning to make a move on him, so they have
00:11:38 --> 00:11:41 to strike first. Falcone leaves, and Eddie fills
00:11:41 --> 00:11:43 Vito in. He says three of their guys, Beans,
00:11:43 --> 00:11:47 Balls, and Frankie, are missing. He says Guarino
00:11:47 --> 00:11:50 is suspected to be responsible, and that Beans
00:11:50 --> 00:11:52 is Carlo's accountant. If he talks, we're all
00:11:52 --> 00:11:55 fucked. Vito's job is to tail Guarino to see
00:11:55 --> 00:11:58 if he's involved and rescue any of their men
00:11:58 --> 00:12:01 if he comes across them in the process. So the
00:12:01 --> 00:12:04 whole thing about the accountant being captured
00:12:04 --> 00:12:08 is, again, maybe it's just a general theme in
00:12:08 --> 00:12:11 Mafia stuff, but in Mafia 1 we also have the
00:12:11 --> 00:12:14 accountant, that one for sure was betraying them,
00:12:14 --> 00:12:17 but this one is, I don't know if he would betray
00:12:17 --> 00:12:20 them or if it's just the other side of... accounting
00:12:20 --> 00:12:23 life where you get captured and you're tortured
00:12:23 --> 00:12:26 and you're forced to reveal your things. Watch
00:12:26 --> 00:12:30 out, Kathy. I know. You might be on a list. I
00:12:30 --> 00:12:32 know. Also, why do they all have the same glasses?
00:12:35 --> 00:12:37 It's a special accounting society where we all
00:12:37 --> 00:12:42 have to wear matching glasses. Pull them out.
00:12:42 --> 00:12:47 Let me see. So he tracks Garino to Clemente's
00:12:47 --> 00:12:50 slaughterhouse and... I thought we could maybe
00:12:50 --> 00:12:55 talk to that guy that falls. But no. He just
00:12:55 --> 00:12:59 stumbles off. Vito spots, or he sneaks his way
00:12:59 --> 00:13:04 into the slaughterhouse through the sewer. We're
00:13:04 --> 00:13:07 back to the poop tubes. He has some bad timing
00:13:07 --> 00:13:11 and he gets showered with poopy. That's so gross.
00:13:12 --> 00:13:17 Disgusting. Vito sneaks around the slaughterhouse
00:13:17 --> 00:13:19 and spots the missing men and sneakily makes
00:13:19 --> 00:13:24 his way over to them. However, the smell of the
00:13:24 --> 00:13:28 poop and pee atop him gives him away. They smell
00:13:28 --> 00:13:31 him before they see him. That's so disturbing.
00:13:32 --> 00:13:36 How bad do you think he smells for other people
00:13:36 --> 00:13:39 to be alerted? I've gone camping with vault toilets
00:13:39 --> 00:13:43 before, and those are pretty bad. But if you
00:13:43 --> 00:13:45 have to go to the bathroom, you're going to put
00:13:45 --> 00:13:49 up with it, you know? But I think for it to smell
00:13:49 --> 00:13:53 worse than a slaughterhouse is pretty telling.
00:13:54 --> 00:13:57 It probably burnt your eyes a little bit. So
00:13:57 --> 00:14:00 we're at the slaughterhouse. There's pigs and
00:14:00 --> 00:14:03 humans being dangling from those hooks thing.
00:14:03 --> 00:14:07 And then we meet Luca again. I didn't take any
00:14:07 --> 00:14:09 notes about the conversation, but I just remember
00:14:09 --> 00:14:13 Vito then getting... pretty much beaten up, and
00:14:13 --> 00:14:14 so I guess what he learned in jail wasn't enough
00:14:14 --> 00:14:17 for him. He has to fight this big guy, who looks
00:14:17 --> 00:14:19 like he's wearing the same outfit as one of their
00:14:19 --> 00:14:22 men, so I got confused. But we win the fight.
00:14:23 --> 00:14:25 Frankie's dead, but the other two, Balls and
00:14:25 --> 00:14:29 Beans, are still alive. Balls wants to torture
00:14:29 --> 00:14:31 Garino despite Vito saying that Eddie asked him
00:14:31 --> 00:14:33 to take care of him personally. And I feel like
00:14:33 --> 00:14:35 that could come back to bite him. I was just
00:14:35 --> 00:14:38 thinking about that, too, because he's pretty
00:14:38 --> 00:14:39 adamant. And then the moment the guy's like,
00:14:39 --> 00:14:42 but I want him to die a slow death. And then
00:14:42 --> 00:14:45 Vito's like, oh, okay. Had Vito not killed anyone
00:14:45 --> 00:14:48 before this, I would have been like, makes sense.
00:14:48 --> 00:14:50 He didn't want to get his hands dirty and he's
00:14:50 --> 00:14:53 still not comfortable with it yet. But I don't
00:14:53 --> 00:14:57 understand why Vito didn't stay to make sure
00:14:57 --> 00:15:00 that the job got done. Yeah, I'm surprised he
00:15:00 --> 00:15:02 didn't want to watch, honestly, because he hates
00:15:02 --> 00:15:08 this guy. So Vito fills Eddie in, who rightfully
00:15:08 --> 00:15:10 demands that he go change before returning to
00:15:10 --> 00:15:13 the bar. And once he is back in fresh clothes,
00:15:13 --> 00:15:16 Joe is there, and he tells him that they're going
00:15:16 --> 00:15:19 to be brought into the Falcone family. Galante's
00:15:19 --> 00:15:21 at the bar too, and Vito thanks him for getting
00:15:21 --> 00:15:24 him out of jail early. Galante tells him that
00:15:24 --> 00:15:27 he's making good on his second promise of recommending
00:15:27 --> 00:15:31 him. Two things. One, I could not recognize Galante.
00:15:32 --> 00:15:35 Normal clothing? I was like, who is that? He's
00:15:35 --> 00:15:38 not in his uniform. Yeah, exactly. And two, why
00:15:38 --> 00:15:41 does Vito look so excited to be in the mafia?
00:15:42 --> 00:15:44 I don't get it. I mean, I guess he'll kind of
00:15:44 --> 00:15:46 explain it at the end. So maybe we should just
00:15:46 --> 00:15:50 finish up this gameplay part. So as the night
00:15:50 --> 00:15:52 goes on, both Joe and Vito are accepted into
00:15:52 --> 00:15:55 the family. Then we hear Vito in voiceover saying,
00:15:55 --> 00:15:57 You might wonder why I'd take this risk again.
00:15:57 --> 00:15:59 I have to spend almost seven years in a can.
00:16:00 --> 00:16:03 You see, where I grew up, the only guys who mattered
00:16:03 --> 00:16:04 were the guys who had the balls to take what
00:16:04 --> 00:16:07 they wanted. I don't know why he paused and said
00:16:07 --> 00:16:13 balls like that. Okay, I... I don't know if I
00:16:13 --> 00:16:15 like that. I feel like it's a cheap cop -out
00:16:15 --> 00:16:18 to immediately put words in there just to kind
00:16:18 --> 00:16:21 of tie it. Maybe as a kid during that intro scene.
00:16:21 --> 00:16:23 They should have set that up as part of the storyline
00:16:23 --> 00:16:26 saying that he saw other kids getting beaten
00:16:26 --> 00:16:29 up and then the mafia people came out and protected
00:16:29 --> 00:16:32 them but also took from them. But that's who
00:16:32 --> 00:16:36 has that chain of command. And therefore, Vito
00:16:36 --> 00:16:39 has always wanted to be in the mafia. That would
00:16:39 --> 00:16:42 have made more sense. You just saying three sentences,
00:16:42 --> 00:16:45 not you, but the game saying three sentences
00:16:45 --> 00:16:49 towards the end of this chapter just to make
00:16:49 --> 00:16:52 it give some justification is terrible right
00:16:52 --> 00:16:55 bad planning on their part for not setting up
00:16:55 --> 00:16:58 this character arc and background it would have
00:16:58 --> 00:17:02 been so easy just to add a scene of yeah feto
00:17:02 --> 00:17:06 just being impressed admiring the power that
00:17:06 --> 00:17:08 he sees with the the men in the mafia as a kid
00:17:08 --> 00:17:11 that would leave an impression as a child and
00:17:11 --> 00:17:13 he ends up by saying i was willing to risk anything
00:17:13 --> 00:17:18 to finally be somebody Shut up, Vito. Maybe you
00:17:18 --> 00:17:20 could focus on being a good son and brother.
00:17:21 --> 00:17:25 Maybe there's that. Too late on the son part.
00:17:25 --> 00:17:30 And then we hear, I don't think it's Falcone,
00:17:30 --> 00:17:32 but one of his right -hand men go, no dope, that's
00:17:32 --> 00:17:34 our policy, which seems to be a running theme
00:17:34 --> 00:17:37 in these games. And then we get a montage of
00:17:37 --> 00:17:40 Joe and Vito living the life and benefiting from
00:17:40 --> 00:17:45 it. That is so cringy and silly and stupid for
00:17:45 --> 00:17:49 that ending. It's almost the equivalent of a
00:17:49 --> 00:17:52 couple frolicking through the fields in a meadow
00:17:52 --> 00:17:56 of just having happy, happy times. But then just
00:17:56 --> 00:18:01 punching someone out. There's that. So I just
00:18:01 --> 00:18:07 think it's a stupid way to end the scene. I agree.
00:18:08 --> 00:18:14 Not a big fan of this game so far. That's why
00:18:14 --> 00:18:17 it took me two times to play it. And a lot of
00:18:17 --> 00:18:21 editing. Well, those were all my notes. Did you
00:18:21 --> 00:18:23 have anything else on part three or should we
00:18:23 --> 00:18:26 close it out? I did have one quick note. During
00:18:26 --> 00:18:29 the whole initiation process of going into the
00:18:29 --> 00:18:32 mafia or for their family, that's crazy intense
00:18:32 --> 00:18:34 having a burning sheet of paper so literally
00:18:34 --> 00:18:39 holding fire in your hands. I guess the only
00:18:39 --> 00:18:40 way to tell which family they are, if you look
00:18:40 --> 00:18:44 at everyone's palms, and if there's third -degree
00:18:44 --> 00:18:46 burns, that's how you know they're with the Falcone
00:18:46 --> 00:18:50 family. Also, why was the knife so giant to just
00:18:50 --> 00:18:52 do a little pinprick? I was worried they were
00:18:52 --> 00:18:55 going to cut the finger off. Could have used
00:18:55 --> 00:18:57 a steak knife, if we're being honest. Yeah, the
00:18:57 --> 00:19:01 drama. And the music that they wanted us to be
00:19:01 --> 00:19:04 sad or something? I don't know. Yeah, that or
00:19:04 --> 00:19:08 being really... emotional and happy for him i
00:19:08 --> 00:19:11 don't know what was going on but didn't work
00:19:11 --> 00:19:14 yeah i feel like i'm such a big critic in these
00:19:14 --> 00:19:16 games because i'm always pointing out the bad
00:19:16 --> 00:19:18 things like i didn't like this i didn't like
00:19:18 --> 00:19:22 when john was just um not being strong enough
00:19:22 --> 00:19:24 and and i have so much critique about all the
00:19:24 --> 00:19:27 video games we play i feel like such a debbie
00:19:27 --> 00:19:29 downer and it didn't hit me until how much i'm
00:19:29 --> 00:19:33 hating on veto in this game so far and i'm like
00:19:33 --> 00:19:36 okay i promise you guys that i'm a lot More positive.
00:19:37 --> 00:19:47 Well, no, I'm kidding. Well, on that note, should
00:19:47 --> 00:19:51 we close it out? Yeah. Audacity on one. Three,
00:19:51 --> 00:19:54 two, one. Thank you for listening, and don't
